Sallie took on the role of an entrepreneur when she co-founded Ellevest, a digital financial platform for women with investment plans, in 2014. She is currently the CEO of the company, as well as Chair of Ellevate Network, a global professional women’s network. Along with her diverse team at Ellevest, she wants to change the way women invest by closing the gender investing gap that, still today, prevails in the USA.
Sallie’s career had been, nonetheless, well-defined prior to launching Ellevest as she was the President of the Global Wealth & Investment Management division of the Bank of America. Partly due to that, Sallie is widely known as one of Wall Street’s most senior women. To highlight the fact, she has earned the ranking of number seven on Forbes list “The World’s 100 most Powerful Women of 2005”.
Just this year, Sallie added the role of author to her long list of accomplishments when her book “Own it: The Power of Women at Work” was published, in 2017. The bestseller gives women multiple rules for success in their careers, which reflect her own experiences in the working world.
Only a week away, Sallie will step on the stage at Slush with an investment-themed topic What Has Corporate Venture Capital to Bring on the Table. Speaking alongside her will be Matthew Garratt, Vice President of Salesforce Ventures. Both of them are known for advising and mentoring startups. The discussion will surely not fall short of invaluable content.
