Over a hundred people gathered yesterday to construct the foundations of the Slush Tokyo 2017 venue. Together, we built some of the event’s visual components by taking up the tasks of designing and painting the chairs, setting up the lights, and arranging the venue space. After wrapping up, the team threw a mini-celebration as a thank you for the mutual effort.
Slush Tokyo’s CEO, Antti Sonninen, expressed his appreciation for the volunteers’ help and enthusiasm. “I’m impressed with the number of attendees today. These people represent the future of the startup scene, it’s exciting!” he tells while painting.
Slush Talkoot provides a unique experience. You’ll have a wonderful opportunity of meeting like-minded people from different backgrounds and cultures. “The highlight of the event for me was that I got to meet a lot of interesting, passionate people,” underlines Sydney Franz, one of the volunteers at Talkoot and a student here in Japan. “I was a little intimidated at first, as I didn’t know what to expect, but everyone was very welcoming and friendly.”
What Slush represents is collective team effort, and Talkoot embodies just that. Be it for a short while or the whole day, Talkoot is open for everyone and gives the chance to add your own unique input in Slush.
