Well then, who might be doin’ the playin’? The host for the evening is drummer legend, Louisiana pop, rock and country super star Brady Blade Jr.
“I am so looking forward to meeting all the great people that will be attending the conference!” Blade says when asked about his expectations for Slush Music. “Hearing great music with beautiful Helsinki as the backdrop is a dream setting that I anticipate greatly to attend. Also, everyone on the Slush Music Team has been so kind. I love them already and we have not even met yet! Can’t wait to be there!”
Musically, Blade is probably best known for playing with Emmylou Harris in the 90s and Dave Matthews & Friends jam in the early 2000s. On top of this, he has also shared stages with numerous American music icons, such as Bob Dylan. He is also an iconic figure in the world of producing music and song writing. Much in the spirit of Slush Music, he has devoted his energy to help rising stars get off the ground in the industry by running studios for local artists in Louisiana.
The Jam Session will be part of the Day 1 Afterparty, in the Hima&Sali hall. Rumor has it, that even AIM’s CEO Paul Pacifico will join in on the fun with his harmonica. The entire party lasts from 9pm to 1.30am all over Kaapelitehdas. There are plenty of live music performances to look forward to in the Merikaapelihalli, including the winner of the YleX’ and Slush Music joint contest, up and coming popstar $now performing live. The night will also feature DJ sets in Puristamo and Music Tech Fest Hackathon’s performance, which will be produced at the hackathon the weekend prior and during Tuesday in Kaapelitehdas.
