Slush Shanghai proudly presents that the winner of the Pitch Competition is LiqEase. The company was awarded with a 3 000 000 RMB credit loan and paid trips to both San Francisco and Finland. The company also gets the opportunity to pitch in the legendary pitching competition in Helsinki, Slush 100.
“I was a bit nervous before going on stage and delivering the pitch. I love our product and I love what we do, I think it’s a great solution. It has been amazing to receive so much positive feedback and good response by the Slush attendees, investors and of course the judges too, but I didn’t expect us to win. This win is of course, a proof of what we are doing is right. We were in Slush Shanghai last year and it’s great to be back.” said Tobias Pfütze founder, and CEO of LiqEase. After graduating from university, Pfütze founded his first venture in mobile payments. Today he is living in Shanghai.
The next steps for LiqEase is to look into their marketing and promotion – and to get the word out there about their company. “I am traveling to Hong Kong and Hamburg for the FinTech Weeks. After that, I will be at the FinTech Festival in Singapore, so there is a lot of traveling whilst we’re working on the product and getting more customers. Obviously, the first prize will help us build the team faster than I expected.” added an excited Pfütze.
The Pitch Competition finalists were selected by the jury: Yao Qiming, Vice president of ICBC Free Trade Zone Branch, James Li, Founder and CEO at E.J.McKay Group, Chris Rynning, Founder at nHack, Gus Gostyla, Head of VC and startups at Google Play and Manny Fernandez, angel investor and Co-Founder & CEO of Dreamfunded.
“There were so many good companies and pitches in the final. It was very hard to pick one winner but together with the other judges, we managed to agree on LiqEase. I can’t wait to see what the future will hold for all of the companies” said Chris Running, one of the judges in the jury.
