Ovelin has already made a strong footprint at Slush during the past years. In 2011 they won the Slush 100 -pitching competition and in 2012 they came up with a nail-painting product launch campaign for 2012 that even the Prime Minister of Finland remembered one year after the event.
This Wednesday Ovelin launched mobile version of their GuitarBots. The launch was accompanied by a “demonstration” by an anti-guitarist group, Concerned Parents of GuitarBot Addicts who had kidnapped CEO of Ovelin and took over their program slot to tell about the dangers of guitar addiction.
Currently the addiction rate of normal guitarists is just 15%, which is still manageable. But Ovelin’s products are causing a significant rise in the addiction level, as the playing becomes more tempting thanks to the fun and positive encouragement. The just launched mobile version of GuitarBots was especially worrying for the anti-guitarist group, as it transforms previously browser-only game to a mobile experience that is available anywhere and anytime. And the worst thing was the ready catalogue of 300 free songs and easy uploading of any compatible new song, so the players could stay addicted to guitars for the rest of their life.
